Rachel Herman began working at Morning Star Sanctuary in September 2018 as the Children’s Program Manager and serves as the Residential Program Manager overseeing the shelter program. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and a bachelor’s degree in addiction counseling from Indiana Wesleyan University.
As a social worker, Rachel focuses on children & women who are victims of domestic and sexual violence both in the U.S. and abroad by providing shelter and trauma-informed care programs. When asked about her work for Morning Star Sanctuary, Rachel says she’s passionate about offering a safe place for children and families to be empowered, educated and to encounter healing. She has personally seen how the love of Christ has the power to provide hope and empower people to overcome, so she wants to help equip them with the skills and tools to live a transformed life.
Morning Star Sanctuary is a program of AGAPE that exists to provide refuge for victims of domestic violence and their children who have fled abusive situations and to help empower them to break the cycle of violence that controls their lives.
